Under the Basket – Easy Game for Dogs

Hello you lovely pet parent, you!

This game is an adaptation of a game I tried earlier which resulted in a big fail.

We were a lot more successful this time – thanks to Gill’s idea!

We’re grabbing a bit of focus from our dog before we let them go for it and then it’s all about your dog figuring a way to get at their treats.

What you need:
Treats
Clothes Basket
Your lovely dog

Step by Steps

1. 1. Sit your basket down
   2. Have your dog sit down and wait for you
   3. Pop some treats under your basket
   4. Wait for your dog to look at you
   5. Say ‘Go!’ and let your dog work out how to get under the basket and to their tasty prize.

Tips

• If your dog isn’t great at looking at you while waiting for the command – be patient but allow the slightest move towards a look at you initially and build from there
• If your dog isn’t really getting involved, find ways to make it more interesting by giving the basket a good waggling or being more excited yourself.
• If that doesn’t work – make it easier for your dog to get into the basket by propping one side up slightly with a cushion or tea towel.
